My law practice helps California workers.
If your accident happened in another state,
we can help if you were hired in California.

Most Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will I be fired if I file a workers' comp case or hire an attorney?

It is illegal to fire you, or discriminate against you for filing for workers' comp. or hiring a lawyer.

2. I have just begun to hurt but nothing happened recently to cause it.

If you do a lot of lifting, bending, stooping or typing you may have pain from doing this over a period of time. This is also a Worker's Comp injury even if you have had pre-existing physical problems.

2. How quickly can I get treatment or see a doctor?

The insurance company has the right to treat you for the first 30 days. Thereafter, you can choose your own treating doctor, with the help of your attorney.

3. Who pays my doctor bills?

All doctors, hospitals, therapists, diagnostic work ( MRI, Cat Scan, EMG, etc. ) are paid for by the insurance company.

4. Will my temporary disability be stopped if I hire an attorney?

No. Your temporary disability is controlled by the primary treating doctor.

5. Is there a difference between the company doctor and the attorney's doctor?

A vast difference. The insurance doctor will return you to work even if you disagree and are not yet ready. The attorney doctor will not do that. If you are returned to work by the company doctor, the insurance company will stop your check.

6. What kind of doctor will I be seeing?

    Specialists in any field needed.

7. How do I pay attorney fees?

It is paid by the insurance company.

8. How much money will I get in the end?

It all depends on what the doctors say you have left over when they are done treating you. This is called permanent disability.
